Walker, Standing Liberty, Barber, Large Cent, Connecticut copper

Hit a few spots recently, one old spot and a couple of new ones. The Walker, SLQ and toasted 1817 large cent came out of a property I was invited to hunt. It's been hunted a lot around the main house so there wasn't much there, but I did come out with some silver and a LC. There are fields with the grass and weeds to high to hunt right now, but the guy who invited me has found 48 LC's and early coppers plus an inaugural button there. We're waiting for them to be cut to hunt them. Barber dime came out of a spot I've hunted over and over for the last year and pulled LC's, seated coinage, Barbers and a lot else. Just goes to show a place is never really hunted out. The 1787 Connecticut, although toasted, came out of a new spot in the woods. There are nearby houses that date c.1770-1810. Love hunting the woods.

A few nice finds. Nice detail on the Liberty. Maybe the Barber will be just as good. Crazy when you think something that big can fall out of the pocket and not be noticed. Nor noticed when someone walks by later on. As far as places being hunted out, I must be missing the finds a second time around. I am myself waiting for a big field to be cut. The only thing is that it's not too close so I have to go check it and I'm not sure when the town gets around to cut the grass there.

Looks like you have a beautiful site to hunt. I hope the grass will soon be cut and that you will be able to post nice finds from there.

Me too. Here's a pic from about a week earlier with another SLQ, in the same hole with a Washington.

Excellent work Don! 48 LCs from the property...wow. Must have had some large gatherings at some point there. Can't imagine 48 LCs dropped at random by a few family members even if it was over a longer period of time.
