    1870s childs pop gun.

This came from a homesite that was built in 1847 and I am the only detectorist that has had the pleasure to hunt this property. I found this 1884 Indian and the pop gun pictured. I believe it says J. D. Earay as the manufacturer. It says MERIDEN on the other side. I Don't know if the gun is banner thread worthy but it sure is cool. I also believe it is not complete.

First time I've seen one of those posted.....very nice find. That IH is in great shape. Being the only one to detect the property do you think there's more????? on those keepers.

Shocked at the detail on the IH. I'm guessing more chemicals get used on public parks and schools for the grass that causes the coins to deteriorate like whoa. I can't tell from Dan's pic if the handle is carved wood or cast from metal. It looks as if it would be metal. Just trying to figure out why that part is missing. Congrats on the finds tho.

Very nice finds and I'm sure you'll be back. Great green patina on the IH by the way.

The manufacturer of the pop gun was a company that was in business between 1876 to 1884. I dug a partial souvenir knife they made for the Gilbert and Sullivan opera H.M.S. Pinafore
