    Copious Quantities of Crusty Coins

Yesterday I went back to a fairly large school grounds that I have hunted several times. I found 4 wheat cents, a 1923 Buffalo Nickel, a 1954-D Roosevelt and a 1944 Washington Quarter.

Today I met up with BruceT, Digger Don and Digger Al for some detecting in a few old parks. Today I found an 1888 Indian Head, 3 wheat cents, an 1887 V Nickel, a 1936 Buffalo Nickel, and a 1942-P War Nickel.

BruceT even bought us all lunch! What a guy! Now if we could only get him to post on the forum instead of just lurking.
Here are my finds from this weekend:

At first I thought this V Nickel was dated 1897 but now that I look at it closer I think it's actually 1887.

Nice ape. Love the 13D wheat. When I started detecting and I found an old green wheat like that, you could just tell it was going to be old. Nice couple of days out Tony!!

Tony, as usual a great group of old coins. The 13 D wheat is fantastic along with the IH. The key looking item, do you think that it went to a toy such as a toy car???

Nice try on getting Bruce T past the lurking stage....

Be careful if you go back to that park, those squirrels are dangerous!

another great showing of coins (as usual of course) Tony , the Indian is a great looking example with the "famous" pretty mid-western patina.

Great greenie IH Tony! Nice gorilla two. I'm chuckling to myself thinking what you were thinking when you first saw it and wondered what it was. We've all been there before. Congrats on another great weekend.
