    Pretty cool

I found this today and do not know what it is. It is made of copper and has a federal eagle on it, it looks to have twelve stars and what looks to be a pistol at the bottom right....any help ?....Del ?Name: WP_20140821_15_51_44_Pro.jpg

I'll let the experts weigh in, but it looks like a powder flask to me, for holding gunpowder. The crossed pistols would make perfect sense on such an object.

    Incredible find!

    More info:

It seems to be a “Colt’s Patent” Powder Flask For the ’49 Colt Pocket Revolver. Some had the words "Colt's Patent" above the stars and some didn't. I don't think yours does.
