Little Silver and a little Gold 08/23/14

Got out with a couple of my detecting friends this weekend and found a little bit of Silver and Gold. We found a beach this weekend that has some age and had not been hunted to hard and decided to work the beach and see what we might find. This beach is solid pull tabs and aluminum cans so we knew we would have to work it slow. I elected to hunt with my Etrac with a 5 inch coil to see if I could work around all the pull tabs. The first thing I found was the 1939 Mercury dime so I was pumped. I later found the Gold ring, it rang up 12-37 but was showing to be 8 inches so I was hoping it was not a stinking zincoln. Later I got the two .925 silver rings just before we quit for the day. I was so excited about the Silver and Gold that I was easily talked into going back a few hours later with another one of my hunting buddies. We both had a good hunt that evening and I got my first 40% Silver half to make for a great weekend of hunting with a couple great friends.

    Thanks for looking,

    Dave

Sweet hunt! Nice looking gold ring. I would love to have a beach hunt like that. But I would be the guy digging every can and pull tab there
