Finally got back out!Cool button found in friends yard

    Hi all,
finally had a chance to detect for a little while at a friends house where it dates to early 1800's.Near a large tree in the yard I had a nice repeatable signal and out pops a nice button.Tell me what ya think? Militia?

I was shocked at the condition too. Not deep at all,4" down.I think if I spend some time in the yard I'll find some old silver as well.

you seldom see them "biscuit" type buttons with out any dents or pushed in areas , I know the two similar New York buttons I have are both damage and or stripped of all their gilt . thats a very nice example sir .

Great button and in awesome condition. Agree that with proper cleaning you may be able to see more of that golden gilt.
