    new site another spanish silver!

Todd and me found a new site and decided to make the mile trek into the wilderness to see if it existed.it was there alright.kinda loaded with iron but we worked it for half the day.Usually when i dig a horseshoe I have a good day.funny how i dug in and this is how the horseshoe came up.
i was swinging along a rock wall in back of cellar hole when something caught my eye fluttering around.looked like a large dragon fly so i wanted to get a pic of it as it was huge.he landed on a branch, when i was getting close he took off and landed on a tree 10 feet away.i get to tree and there he goes! grrr so i turn on my machine again and bam right near base of the tree he landed on i dig the half reale dismiss it as coincidence if you wish,I think it was something more than just that.Dug a nice small conestoga bell at 1st site too.
targets were getting slim and we decided to walk down a side trail across the river. near a pond.as we are crossing the dried up river bed theres a tiny pool of water and flappin around in it looks like a brook trout.I managed to get him out of the almost dried up pool and let hime go in the pond.hope he makes it in there.as we are walking we come into tons of walls and pens.Todd spots another cellar hole.
I dug some buttons.one being a gorgeous designed tombac.love diggin these! a cast barss one piece basket weave button too.never seen a cast brass one before
Todd got chased away while digging a target and where he ended up running to he dug a half reale. kinda ironic that 2 insects helped us find our best finds of the day.well Todd had help from more than one yellow jacket i think!
been over a year since I dug a spanish silver and weird how last 3 hnts I get one each hunt.I swear things come in spurts

Wow Dave! Is that three days of hunting in a row with Spanish silver in a row after a very long drought? Those designed tombac buttons are beautiful finds Congrats on all the digs! Glad Todd could get his Spanish silver as well... but he had to pay the price this time

Man, I swear if you ever came to Illinois to hunt you would be so bored. Freshly cut grass, bathrooms, drinking fountains and the occasional shady gazebo. Truth be told, I would love to experience one your cellar hole sites. The things you find are absolutely amazing.
    Congrats on all you finds.

You guys never cease to amaze me on your finds, but I'm happy for you. Awesome Reale and love the basket weave button. It cleaned up really nicely. I've been lucky not to run into the yellowjackets so far, but was at a site earlier in the spring when I came upon a female moose on the trail just ahead of me. She bolted, crashing through the brush. I wasn't in any danger but it sure startled me.
