Shield Nickel! We got out early again this morning to a 1740s house we were invited to detect. Mike and I were hitting memorials at 7".... The homeowner then tells us the property was graded and new fill added in the late 70s. Anyway, managed this Shield nickel and that was it. The shield side is toast.
The town Mike and I have been concentrating on is pretty old. We stopped at a antique yard sale at a 1700s house, had a nice conversation with the homeowner. He is like the mayor of the town. He knows all the old homes and the people who own them. He promised us at least a half dozen properties to detect some going back to the 1600s! Gonna be one hell of a ride!

Nice job on the old coin. Looks like you found a great resource for more potential sites.
