Mercury And POTUS Sitting Inna Hole

I was out in the wood today. Still looking for a cellar hole... I am beginning to believe the foundation went under water back in the 1950s. That was when the creek was dammed up to make a duck pond and wet land preserve.

The hunt was not a total loss. While wandering around in the wood, I got a real nice high tone hit and found these two silvers in the same hole. Nice surprise and they were shallow, only two three inch deep. The shallow layer of shale rock prevented them from getting any deeper.

One of these days I will remember to NOT rub off the dirt and mud. But hey! I got excited...

WTG on digging a silver spill. The merc looks pretty well worn so I wouldn't worry about rubbing that coin.

    Congrats on the two silvers!

Silver coins show the affects of rubbing them so easily. I have been guilty of getting excited and rubbing silver coins myself. You didn't hurt the value of those two, but if it had been a 1916-D Merc you might be kicking yourself. It's unlikely, but you never know. I often have to remind myself of that!
