    Large Cents, Indians, Seated Silver!

Spent Friday afternoon and Saturday out in the fields, Friday we went to the “Iron Field” and Doug and Diane had a great day, I not so much. Doug got two Large Cents, 1847, 1848 and an 1892 Indian plus a “Good For 5 Cents Token”. Diane trumped them with a first for her an 1839-O Half Dime! To say she was happy would be an understatement!

Saturday we first went to another field for the first time, it had been in and it was plowed which made the walking and swinging a bit tough. It is an old site far out in the field and an early site, I amazed myself because I was able to walk right to it without any trouble. Mostly found some relics and “partifacts” several broken crotal bells, “The plow giveth and the plow taketh away”, this field will be better when we get enough rain on it to settle it down some.

We then went to the “Iron Field” again for a short hunt time and I was able to get a 1901 Indian and Doug got a nice date 1911-S Wheatie. Looking forward to more fields being cut.

Great bunch of finds for your posse!

I really like that "Good for 5 cents" token, it looks a lot older than most tokens. Very nice!

Of course the find of the day is Diane's half dime! WOW! What a fantastic find! Huge congrats to the Diane girl!

From the looks of those "partifacts" it is an old site and should give up more goodies.

    Lifetime totals:
10 Large Cents, 415 Indian Heads, 2 Two Cent Pieces, 1 Capped Bust Half Dime, 1 Seated Half Dime, 10 Shield Nickels, 68 V Nickels, 124 Buffalo Nickels, 31 War Nickels, 16 Seated Dimes, 131 Barber Dimes, 405 Mercury Dimes, 249 Rosies, 4 Seated Quarters, 18 Barber Quarters, 20 Standing Liberty Quarters, 89 Silver Washingtons, 1 Seated Half, 3 Barber Halves, 16 Walking Liberty Halves

Who wouldn't be happy digging a 1/2 dime, Diane's smile says it all. Crotal bells are always a nice surprise but I would be greatly disappointed to find one that was broken. .

    on another great hunt.
