Sunday group hunt with some great peeps...

Great job By Carol Rio, Dave Wise, CT Todd and GK Man in making this hunt happen. Dave and I met up with Carol, CT-Todd and Gary Killmer in New York on Sunday morning. We were lucky enough to secure permission on hunting this area that was hiding a few cellar holes. They were all hit already which we pretty much assumed was going to be the case. Still managed to pull out some keepers at each site including a pair of colonial cuff links, an 1803-07 Draped bust, a pewter cast large cent that looks to me like they attempted to counterfeit a Braided Hair LC and a few cool buttons. A lot of hiking and a lot of ticks seemed to be the theme of the day but it was all worth the fun we had.

Some sweet looking keepers. The site was probably hit before but they left you some great items. A counterfeit LC is definitely a cool find. The cufflinks and buttons have some very nice designs on them. A draped bust is still on my hit list.

Is it Illegal to transport ticks over state lines?

That is a bunch of great finds, a counterfeit Large Cent is got to be a rare find! And the pictures of the countryside are downright artistic. Very nice!

I can't tell for sure about the pewter coin. It almost looks like there is a date impression around the bottom edge. Maybe the real large cent was what they were using as guide for the counterfiet. Possibly they had to dispose of it to avoid the authorities. What is the scroll like thing in the second to last pic? I can see the "LON".. as in London?
