Man's Platinum and Diamond Ring found today at the Beach

Went beach detecting today for a change with my Excallibur 2, figured there would be nobody at the beach on a rainy day and i was right. An hour and a half later near some rocks i got a faint signal, dug down with my new beach scoop and out popped this BIG BAD BOY. A Platinum and diamond ring, it has 11 diamonds and weighs a whopping 25.89 grams. There were no markings so i brought it to a local jewelry store and they tested it, it
was definitely Platinum. They said retail it would have sold for $ 15,000 insurance replacement would be $5,000 - $8,000. Super stoked with this find. Check out the photos below.

Thank you ! They seem to think it was made in the 80's, based on the style.

    Now thats a dandy!!
Nice find with some real value!!
    Congrats!

Having never found any platinum, how does it register on a metal detector?
Is it a low tone like gold? Or a high tone like silver? Mid tone like a pull tab?
