    Hello From San Jose, CA

    Hi All-

    Just joined up. Looking forward to reading lots of good stories about metal detecting and seeing all the stuff people are finding.

    I have been detecting for a little more than a year. I have a X-Terra 305 and a Garrett AT Pro. Mostly use the Pro, but when my son goes out with me, he takes along the X-Terra along.

    Welcome aboard from the other coast Those two machines should do you well for a long time. I have some advice for you ..... when you teach a kid to detect, their sole purpose is to get better than you and beat you At least that is what happened to me when my cousin taught me Have fun here and have a look around.

    Well me son welcome aboard. Have a Pro as a back up to my 25 year old Freedom 3 plus machines. Cool that the offspring goes with you.

    Welcome to the forum, Ben.

    I used to live in the mountains behind the Lexington Reservoir just south of Los Gatos, and was a member of The Treasurer Hunters Society of Santa Clara County. It's a very active group. I was on the evidence recovery team. If you get a chance, go to a meeting... nice folks.
    I've traveled a long way, and many of the roads weren't paved.
