I also found a silver 1 Kreuzer from 1864, a silver earring, a bronze cross and 5.30 EUROS.

This was my first hunt of 2015, my first hunt with the 8x5 DD coil on my Garrett AT Pro and WOW, what a hunt it was! The WW 1 Iron Cross recipients' ring is one of my coolest finds to date!

Thanks for watching! Please like and subscribe and HH in 2015 to all!

Congrats on your first hunt of the year. Great finds & well documented. I'm glad you're there and not me. You are one brave soul to hunt in the snow. Keep up the good work and have a blessed 2015.

Thanks for posting and love the finds! The ring is beautiful man...such detail in the human figures etc. That should be entered for jewelry of the month award.

Wow that is a awesome Ring man I'd agree with the rest that detail is amazing :shocked05: :congrats:

After doing more research on this ring, I determined that the backround scene is from the Niederwalddenkmal built to commemorate the German victory over the French in the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-1871. Therefore, it's highly possible that this ring commemorates the Franco-Prussian War and NOT WWI.

More on the Franco-Prussian War at this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Franco-Prussian_War

I am even more inclined to believe this ring came from a veteran of the Franco-Prussian War because I found an 1864 Silver Kreuzer about 10 inches away and at the same depth. I think it's possible that this veteran lost his ring and the Kreuzer at the same time. What do you guys think?

I just confirmed that this ring was from the Franco-Prussian War not WW1, making this an even cooler find!
