    my 2014 year in review

2014 was a good year for my hunting buddy Todd and myself, we found some great sites and saved a ton of coins, buttons & relics.
Did very well in the copper dept with 69 ,dug some nice colonial shoe buckles and knee buckles(one solid silver frame)a 1840 William Harrison cabin campaign button, some rare counterfeit coppers even a counterfeit seated dollar. Dug some Rev War sling buckles & a beautiful 1600's brass kettle native American point.
I also dug my 11th George Washington inaugural button from 1789,got a new MXT All-Pro detector which I love.had some great group hunts with Todd,Dan,CT todd,Carol Rio,Todd brush, scott newman,Joey zorn,Gary Kilmer,Frank,Roger, Issac,Scott,Jim,Terry,Tim,my child hood buddies Joe & Dave and got to meet & hunt alongside Howard Hewitt from dig fella's,I'm in a movie that the guys in Dirt Fishin America made when they came out here from Idaho (Brandon,Eric & TJ) &
I made the White's Calender coming out in 2015.Got to return a Sterling Silver WWII bombers ID bracelet that I dug in 2007 back to the son of the man that wore this & fought so proudly for our country. What's so cool is you can see the bracelet on his wrist in the pics of him.
what more can ya ask for? ,saving history alongside great detectorists, that's what it's all about!
Wishing you all a very Blessed New year.Be safe out there God Bless!

Gosh how do you comment on such an array of finds without being repetitive, I guess you can say that you get an official DONE GOOD!

Oldest find: 5,000 year old copper spearhead
Oldest coin: 1699 William III halfpenny
Purdiest coin: 1832 Capped Bust quarter

Either you got my name wrong or I didn't make it on the list for some reason. I didn't realize from all the hunts this year it would total all from pics. Crazy amount. Same with Tony's silver count. I had to look back at the 1806 Flowing hair/draped bust...and I stumbled upon a write up from Dan in 2013 when I wasnt on the forum and it said about you guys pretending you are lost... hmm where have I seen that before? I should ask either you or Dan to bring along a trime so I can get a reading with my machine. Yes, dig all above iron at wooded sites but who knows. Maybe when I see some trash there like soda cans with the ring tabs I just deviate and ignore the tones I determined were junk before and bypass. Just from seeing the trio made me think about those coins.

Again as I have stated on other peoples year in review posts, thank you for being here on AD. Always knew that when you posted it was going to be something good, either it was a coin or a button or being attacked by bees. You did very well in 2014 and I hope that 2015 is better for you.

I see it now.. wonder where it was hiding before.
Maybe there will be some warm weather this winter again. I only got three sites in the woods. But in the spring when it's warm and yards are a go I'll find some permissions.

Another season for the record books Dave!!
As usual your finds are out of this world! Or at least to the edge of the old world.
The story behind the Silver WWII bombers ID bracelet is just so cool! You did a good thing there Dave!
The old pics of gentleman wearing the bracelet are like looking back in time. But you are holding part of that time in your hand!

And the ornate clay pipe, not even metal, is another great find!
I could go on and on...... you always find great stuff!
    Congrats on 2014!
    GL in 2015 too!

Oldest coin: 70 B.C. "Harlow Flyer" gold qtr. Stater
Oldest U.S. coin: 1814 Capped Bust Dime

Thanks Tim very kind of you! It really felt good to talk to Mr.Jewett(the son) the joy in his voice was priceless! a real feel good feeling to be able to put it back in the family's hands where it belongs. Was extra special to me knowing he had all his Dad's photos and secret mission logs,so,this compliments those keepsakes for the next generation.

The finds are fantastic Dave. What more can I add to others' comments. To be honest though, I really like your descriptions of your hunts and your experiences while hunting almost as much. Always look forward to reading those, especially because you take some time to share your stories. Best of luck to you on another stellar hunting year!
