Fantastic find Johan! A gold coin anywhere is a find of a lifetime for most. I can't imagine how much of a monetary loss that would've been for the poor chump back in 1436! A month's wages perhaps? Not sure.

Now that is some super bling. I can imagine your reaction when it was uncovered. What do you think the value is? Congrats.

Mow, my link on page 1 of this thread has a sale price. About $820 USD. Buying price, not selling price. Melt value I saw is around $133, but coins are worth more than their melt value.

The value depends on the state of the coin. A collector already bought this coin and I could use the money. I've sold the coin and my Minelab Etrac and traded it for the Minelab CTX 3030 ! That is the detector i've Always wanted, so the
hobby provided it ! I've sold the coin for about 1000 € that is more than I would get in an auction.

Yeah, did hurt a little bit when I handed the coin over but hey....I've got a new detector !

Besides, I've already found more beautifull coins to look at !

More than a month's wages for the common man. This piece of gold is worth 9 silver crones. (Ecu d'or neuf ą la couronne : Coin gold nine crones)
