    Warmer temperatures are coming soon

The extended forecast for my area and most of southern New England calls for temperatures to rise above 32 degrees in March. That means melting snow and thawing ground. I am patiently waiting to take my detector into the woods for the first time in over a month. Thankfully Southern RI has been spared from the worst of this winter's wrath but there is still far too much snow to swing a coil. Last night we got an additional 3 inches of snow but I remain optimistic that I will be able to get out within two-three weeks (at least in southern RI). Hopefully all of you relics hunters, coin shooters... can get out sooner rather than later. Until then, stay warm and stay safe.

You got snow last night..3 inches nonetheless? I wasn't even aware. I see an expected mid 30's kinda week coming up next week with hopefully some snow melting away. IDC if it's a jolting transition and spring lasts only two weeks. As long as the winter ends and I can get back out.

I can't wait. Got up yesterday morning and it was just a bit cold for detecting.

I worked late on Monday of this week. Here's what the temperature was at 11:30 p.m. on my way home. Actual temp, not wind chill. BRRRRR!

Sorry about the blurry photo. It says -18 degrees.

Dang guys. You all keep warm if venturing out. Me and the misses got back from a cruise today. Hit Miami and was 83. Drove home to Tampa and was 63 and I was cold. Only lived down here a tad over a year and already my blood has thinned out. Hope things thaw out and warms up soon for ya.

According to the 10-day forecast there may be light at the end of the tunnel, my friend.

That looks good Tony!! Maybe there is some light at the end of the tunnel!
It was trying to thaw out today. We got up around 32° with some sun. The dirt on the job site was turning to mud.
But we gotta start somewhere right? It looks like freezing rain tomorrow, then maybe a warm-up.

I really feel for you guys! I hate snow and couldn't even imagine that kind of winter. Meanwhile, the northwest snow levels are at record lows. Scary fire hazards coming in the summer! What a weird winter. You NE guys hang in there.
