    Buddy Hunt w/ 7 Rings! 0_0

Got out hunting yesterday with Rusty from Cutaplug Metal Detecting on Youtube. We have been friends on Youtube for quite a long time and he recently moved about 30 minutes away from me, so we can hunt together now.

We did a lot of door knocking, basically a long day of mediocre permissions. But when you put them all together from 8 hours of hunting it turned out to be a great day!

I found 3 rings. One vintage silver, one aluminum and one 18K HGE. Got 10 wheats, 3 tokens (one of which Rusty though was a silver dollar when he saw me pull it out from a distance.) The thing is HUGE!

Also managed a 1953 rosie and 1936 buffalo.

Half way through the day my e-trac died after 3 years of constant abuse. Rusty was kind enough to let me use one of his machines and we went back at it.

Last pic is of his finds. He got TWO 10k gold rings, 2 junk rings and 2 silver dimes!

His merc and small gold ring came from an old garden bed, the merc was on the surface!

Funny thing is the rest of the yard was crap. xD

I have been following Rusty on YouTube for a long time, he is an exemplary detectorist who really knows his stuff. (Like you, JD!) You two will make a formidable detecting team! Man, there won't be anything left in Tennessee after you guys get done with it.

Congrats on the finds! I'm glad that Rusty had an extra machine for you to use. That's the good thing about hunting in private yards, you can usually dig every repeatable signal, including those odd numbers that could be a gold ring. I would rarely if ever dig those types of signals in a park.

Do you know what's wrong with your E-Trac? I worry that mine is going to crap out someday too, this will be my fifth season hunting with it and I have a LOT of hours on it. I suppose it's not going to last forever, although I do try to take good care of it.

Some nice hunting. I also follow Cutaplug's adventures on Youtube. Sorry to hear about your machine and I hope you get it back soon.
Hope you and Rusty get in many more hunts together.
