Cool One more off the bucket list!

On Monday the 16th of March I officially started my detecting season of 2015. It wound up to be a day that an Iowa boy only dreams of. The last silver coin that I dug was the one I've had on my bucket list for a long time. It was a 1917D Variety 1 SLQ!!!! The rest of the coins I dug were:
    1917P Walking Half
    1899P Barber Quarter
    1907P Barber Dime
    Three Mercury Dimes, 1917, 1936, 1937
    1915 Buffalo Nickle
    Three V Nickles, 1902, 1907, 1909
Two Indian heads ( pretty toasted)
    Three Wheat pennies (also toasted)

That's quite a big day for this old Iowa boy!

Took Tuesday off, but hit it again Wednesday, and found a few more goodies!
    1919P SLQ
    1954D Rosie Dime
    1957D Jefferson Nickle
    and 5 Wheat Pennies

All in all, it was a pretty darn good start to my 2015 Season, with 9 silvers!

That's quite a big day for anyone Ron!! Wow!!
Glad you got to scratch one off your bucket list. You know it's a big deal when a quarter makes you happier than a silver half does!

It's great to see a post from you, Ron! And what a post it is!

TWO early SLQs with legible dates?!!! That's amazing! Not only that, but you got a nice early Walker and a Barber Quarter, plus lots of other great coins as well. Was this all from one site?

For sure that 1917-D Type I SLQ is the crown jewel. That coin is on my bucket list as well, I have found 11 SLQs over the years but never a Type I. Yours is extra special because it has a fully legible date! Man, I can't stop looking at that coin, it's gorgeous!

Congrats on the wonderful finds, and we hope to be seeing a lot of posts like this from you this year!

    Lifetime totals:
9 Large Cents, 415 Indian Heads, 2 Two Cent Pieces, 1 Capped Bust Half Dime, 1 Seated Half Dime, 10 Shield Nickels, 68 V Nickels, 124 Buffalo Nickels, 31 War Nickels, 16 Seated Dimes, 131 Barber Dimes, 405 Mercury Dimes, 249 Rosies, 4 Seated Quarters, 18 Barber Quarters, 19 Standing Liberty Quarters, 89 Silver Washingtons, 1 Seated Half, 3 Barber Halves, 16 Walking Liberty Halves

Congrats again Ron. This bunch of coins is spectacular for the first two hunts of the new detecting season! Not counting the half dozen or so silvers you found since I snapped these pictures.

Your 2015 season is off to an incredible start my good friend. Here's hoping you cross a few more off your bucket list this year.

Hey there Dave. I'm still here. Still swinging the ol' Minelab. Finally got out today and a Seated Dime found it's way under my coil.
