Thread: Ornate Copper or Brass Find??

  1. #1

Question Ornate Copper or Brass Find??

Dug this piece at a school house built in 1850. Not sure on this find but i dug it right in the front of the school house about 5 inches deep. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! I will go ahead and also attach the other finds from today. Oldest coin of the day was a 1916 wheat penny. Hopefully tomorrow will be a much better day of digging!!

P.S. the ornate mystery find does appear to be a fragment off something that broke off to the right side.

I don't know what it is, but it may be military related. I would guess that it stands for "B Company".

Whatever it is it looks old and I like it!

Luke, you came through with a great ID! I would never have thought of it being off of a crotal bell. I'm glad you were able to help Seth out

Yeah. I agree. I was thinking more like the end piece of a flat buckle. Nope...
