Complete colonial shoebuckle and first silvers of the year!

Spent about an hour detecting an older park the other day, and I'm happy with what I managed to uncover. Found a buffalo nickel and a 1913 Barber Dime in halfway decent shape to start off the hunt, then didn't get anything for a while. Right as I was about to leave I decided on digging a loud high tone that resembled a can to me, I dug down about 3-4" and pulled out an (almost) fully intact colonial shoebuckle! So psyched about the find! After I found it I discovered it was missing the fork, so I rechecked the hole and pulled it out. Can't be disappointed though, it's about 4 inches long and has a killer design around the edges.

congrats on getting a complete shoe buckle Sam , you definitely earned "extra points " for rechecking the hole and finding the forked tongue! well done . these designed buckles usually clean up nicely.

Thanks Dan! As soon as I saw it was missing the fork the first thing I thought of was to check the bottom of the hole, good thing I did! The buckle did clean up pretty well, sorry for not posting pictures of it cleaned up like I should have!

Thanks! Here's a pic of the buckle cleaned up a little more. There are some spots of corrosion on it that I didn't tamper with.
