    Wax seal

Pretty cool find from last weekend. I received the Detech 13" Ultimate coil for a fathers day gift. Mike and I went to a spot we've detected plenty of times before. Dug this about 10" down. Going to clean it up a bit and give it to the homeowner.

Nice Father's Day gift, as well as nice little find. What do you reckon the age is on that?

That is a great looking seal matrix Steve , it looks very colonial to me at least 1730's to 1800 would be my guess on its age . congrats and thanks for sharing it with us Steve .

Great find and a piece of history. Curious if you knew what it was when you unearthed it?

I knew it was something relevant considering the location and depth found, but I didn't know what it actually was. I asked Del (Dan) what it was and he told me.

.....huh. I do remember this guy. Nice wax seal find. Guess the 13" made the difference to find something that size at 10" down.
