    Rev War cannon ball

took my g/f Lynne to a colonial cellar hole that we had hit pretty hard in the past.still alot of iron at this site.i basically got skunked with a few shot gun head stamps and some straggler iron away from the foundation.Lynne yells to me from the side of the dirt road.Dave! c'mere.theres something under this root and i cant get it out! i think its a cannon ball.i was thinkin to myself "yeah right" get there and look in the hole.sure enough it was rounded iron but I was thinking a old curved piece of a rusty iron kettle so,i open the hole up more on the side of root and it's lookin very round at this point.sure enough it's a 4.5 pound solid shot.everyone on a few military pages said yep rev war~! she said dave what the heck am i gonna do with that, you keep it honey! she's the best!

Now you can say to anyone who teases you about getting skunked by your girl the same thing that I say when Diane skunks me "It's ok because at the end of the day both the girl and the finds come home with me!"

...Ok. I guess what I read I had missed. I thought they were still 4 Lb in the Rev war from the online articles. Apparently, I found one article that said 4 Lb 6 oz. They just rounded down for typing sake. Nice find tho. I'd have to admit the skunking where the girl beat me was at Rocky Neck. She got a silver ring right off the bat. She didn't realize tho, because she was telling me there were all these signals all over the place that she didn't bother to dig. Once we were back together (my machine wasn't working due to the train and power lines nearby so it went to car and I was chatting with another YTC member for a bit), we went together and I showed her some of what signals really are. Once she thought she had a good signal and it was junk when it was dug ..that's when she realized.
