    Awesome end of January hunt!

Here in SE Michigan the weather has been in the mid 40's the last few days which has thawed out much of the ground. I spent yesterday afternoon at an old park hoping to find some old coins and I did pretty well. No silver for me but I did manage about 14 Wheaties, and nice 1917 Buff and a nice 1911 V nik. Got a couple relics too...a glass button, aluminum thimble and a big old marble. The 1951 Washington came from a few weeks back.

My find of the day came early in the hunt. I got a perfect nickel signal (12-14 on the Etrac) but only 3 inches deep. I decided to dig it even though it was shallow and out came a ladies wedding ring! 10k gold with 11 diamonds in it! No inscription either so I doubt I will be able to find the owner.
