    A message to all detectorists

This problem seems to be on the rise in North Georgia. Feel free to share this to help preserve the hobby.

Thanks for the video & I hope the ya hoo that made it sees your video - we all have seen this before. On a soccer field this last winter I think someone got a detector for Christmas and thought that he had to dig with a shovel and left each of his digs open. I did cover them back up for him.

Thanks man! Can't tell you how many holes I've had to fill in for other people recently. Thanks for watching and for the support.

Luckily I haven't seen any holes left open in my area, though there often were many signs of recent plugs in some places. Even the trash was removed. So kudos to the folks in my area who dig responsibly.

There's a guy on youtube that puts his trash right back in the hole. Crazy!

If you have the users name or a link we can find his videos at, we could all leave comments about it. Maybe it might click.

Think too that is why the vets must take out the newbies and show them the proper way to conduct themselves while pursuing this great hobby!
From the land of the Bluenose.....life is a beach at least till the tide comes in and the Bud is all gone. Swish and dig at the drop of a dime!

    This is true.
But with the internet at everyone's disposal, there's really no sense in someone not researching a hobby that involves digging, usually on public land I might add. Most of the people who do this are simply lazy.
Who knows though, maybe this video opened a few eyes and changed the ways of a few bad apples.
    Thanks for the feedback.

    Sad.
On a positive note, I been back to many of my sites where I dug holes and filled them only to find critters have redug them. So sometimes us detectorists are not to blame.

I'll see if I can find it again. Thing is he puts a cloth down to catch the dirt so as not to leave a mess then if he finds trash he throws it right back in the hole and covers it up. He does a nice job but he or someone else will dig it back up again.

    That's absolutely ridiculous.

Exactly what I was fixing to say, had it happen in my own yard....I watched the area from my porch the next evening, it was an armadillo! Last hole that he dug
