Group hunt with del, Jim, Jeff, and Al - 4/1

Dan and I met up with a MangoAve, Lodge Scent, and Aloldstuff on Friday for a 6 or 7 hour group hunt on the 9 acre field I got permission for this week. There was a home on it at one point, now it's just hayed.

The MXT did well, and I found relics in every corner of the permission. I managed a yet undated KGII, counterfeit CT copper, couple IHP's, and a nice assortment of relics from the 1700's to the 1900's. Piece of a shoe buckle frame, dandy button with a pattern on it, saddle strap guide, dandy sized tombacc, and other items.

It was foggy and windy most of the day, with the occasional sprinkle. Now I know what it's like to detect in English/Scottish fields. Had fun seeing what everyone dug, even if I couldn't see them through the fog most of the day.

Great bunch of keepers Brian. The spoon bowl is really small, but you got a nice collection of coins out of the field. Last picture, top row, do you know what the oblong item with two holes is??

Great seeing you again and thanks for the invite.

That's my version of cellar hole hunting.

Good group hunt, Congrats on your finds!

That piece is built like a clip-on earring Tim. But I think it clipped onto clothing maybe.

The oval piece is part of a saddle strap guide Al. It was great seeing you again!

That piece between the IH and saddle strap is unique.. I can't see Tim's pic on this web browser to know if that is the piece he is questioning. At least from the picture it doesn't look broken.

It was good to get out with you again. Thanks for getting the permission. Was the CT ringing up low or is the condition what deems it counterfeit? I cant tell and didn't see it in person. There's still a lot more area there to check. Was the parcel with barn a place that could be checked too? (I guess I realize now that the cellar across that Dan mentioned was the woman who mentioned we were at her grandfather's house..) Might be another place to look at. Idk how many times I have found more stuff across the road from the cellar than at the actual cellar.
