Pounded out yard, NEL Big w F75ltd2 yield 1865 indian.!!

This yard I have pounded over 20 times. It has yielded over 6 silvers and countless other items. This 1865 is my oldest I have found as Indians go. I have an 1868 is the closest. Not the best shape on the front side but the back is good. Why is the non date side always the best?Name: 1865 ind1.jpg

I am willing to spent 4 hours to get one good coin. I do not have to rake it in to make me happy. I think that keeps me going when I detect. Just give me one good find a hunt and I am happy.

My feelings exactly! There's always something left to find no matter how many times you go over a site.

Get a new coil or detector and they all become new sites. Going back to another big house I have pounded many times. Found a heavy gold earring last time. A SLQ quarter 1917 Type 1 and V nickel the time before that.

It's a shame that coin corroded so bad on the front as it looks to be in great condition. Great find. WD

Congrats on your oldest IH! Yeah, the toasty date side is the buttered side of the bread hitting the floor. But yours is actually in great shape, and probably can be cleaned up pretty easily in a peroxide dip.
