Got this from a E-bay Seller from Ukraine. Already put in my new NCR Panasonic 18650B Batteries. The starting VOltage is 12.43V (based on my multimeter which is a little low on readings). The Etrac came on with full bars. Will be running down the batteries to see how long they will last before they go flat. The 18650b Batteries are 3400mah. Should last a long time. Will base my voltage readings on my multimeter to keep it ending at the same start and end voltage. Actual start voltage is closer to 12.54.

First 17 hours of testing Voltage only dropped from 12.43 to 10.83V (3.61V per Cell) Lots of juice left to go. The Minelab 1600 starts at 11.40v 1and drops fast to around 10.50 first hour.

After 23 hours it is at 10.48V or 3.49V per cell. Still going.

After 26 hours it is still on 3 bars. It has 10.14v and 3.38Vols per 18650 cell (3 batteries)

The best detecting stuff seems to come from Ukraine. They're masters of hacks for sure! I was already thinking of a similar battery replacement for the CTX (4x18650). I've got loads of new high capacity batteries to use! Just need to locate an old dead battery pack somewhere. (Or the high capacity from the GPS series)
    Equipment:
Minelab: CTX 3030, GPX 4800, X-Terra 705. Whites TDI SL.

    2023 Silver: 1 Gold: 0

Best finds: 28 silver dime spill, 1800s Dutch customs seal.
Oldest/best coins: 1837 Upper Canada large cent, 1877 Seated Dime
Oldest find: 1800 Sailors Luck token

What kind of batteries are inside the CTX and How many?

After 30 hours I stopped my test. The batteries were down to 2.98, 3.02, 3.04. It was still on 1 bar and voltage of 8.85V. Just did not want to fall below the 2.8V that is the least U should allow these batteries to go. Now I Know once it reaches one bar it is time to switch out the battery. It can be noted I ran the detector on manual sens of 22. This is about the average I see in the field on Auto +3

As stated sbove, the CTX uses 4 of the 18650. As I recall, the GPZ series uses 6 or 8 of them for higher capacity still. The only difficulty is sealing them for water hunts.

    Great information... Thanks!

I am going to let it go down to see where the cutoff voltage is. Not going to just leave it on. I am going to use in the the field until it stops.

going out for my 5th hunt today with this battery holder. The battery is still on 11.52V. Have not charged in a month. using it until it dies. Might go the rest of this season without charging. If U do not have one of these U should get one.

I'm interested in one of these for my SE,,,if it is built to accomodate my existing protected cell length. From what I've read, the holder for these Minelabs won't. The holder I have for my Whites works fine with these batteries of mine.

    It only fits unprotected 18650s
