Two hour hunt, only 2 good finds

    Hi all,
Got out this morning for a 2 hour lake hunt, but seems like there isn't much left to find any more. But i did manage to find a chain with sterling cross 6 inches down under 4 plus feet of water. It just barely made a peep, so easily missed.

As I was headed back towards the car I checked a small area out of the usually occupied area of the beach where the waves washed out a huge amount of sand during the last storm. I got a solid 12-08 which turned out to be a 2008 1 Krone coin from Norway.

It's a busy beach, so usually have a lot of finds. But getting near to the end of the season. Last time out had 4 rings.

Update: tried a silver cleaning method on that silver cross using baking soda and foil, and it worked as advertised! Not only that, but turns out the chain is sterling too! Found the .925 stamped lightly on the clasp.

Great find. I have yet to get myself any type of chain. Always get the medallions that hung from them but no chains.

Nice, I never seem to find the chains either.

Nice. It's still a silver find. The first time I tried the baking soda/foil method it didn't work. The water wasn't hot enough. But the second time around with my 1907 Barber half, it worked like a charm. That water was really hot. It stunk too. I think there's some sulfide gas that comes off from the cleaning.
Future goals: Capped bust coin, Flowing hair LC, Classic head LC, VT copper, MA copper, Pistareen, Two-cent pc, SLQ, GW inaugural button, Excelsior button, Civil war token, and a gold ring.
