    1845 Homestead Relic Part 3

Back to the homestead this evening for a short hunt. Bits and pieces of junk and some clad until I got a high silver hit. About four inch down. I was poking around in the rough in the bushy hedge row between properties. When I wiped it off and saw B.P.O.E. I knew I had seen BPOE before but for the life of me I could not recall what it was.

Well a quick Google told me it is the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. A club started in 1868 in the Big Apple. Way cool. I had been in Elks clubs before. I believe I was drinking beer at the time.

Well any way I searched this forum to see if anyone else has unearthed a BPOE Fob. Low and behold there was one other. The post is from June 23 , 2013. The really really surprising part ... That fob is from Syracuse NY which is exactly where I found this one. It's a small world.

Cool fob Beartoe. Almost looks like it could be a medal of some sort rather than a fob. I've had a few beers in Elk's Halls myself
