Nice demo. Almost makes me want a Deus now! Have to give it a try sometime with my CTX to see if it will match that. I know I can get a penny at 12 plus inches at the beach. Just don't normally see coins that deep elsewhere.
    Equipment:
Minelab: CTX 3030, GPX 4800, X-Terra 705. Whites TDI SL.

    2023 Silver: 1 Gold: 0

Best finds: 28 silver dime spill, 1800s Dutch customs seal.
Oldest/best coins: 1837 Upper Canada large cent, 1877 Seated Dime
Oldest find: 1800 Sailors Luck token

Ive never tested the ctx on land to its limits but a friend of mine in florida has both and he says the deus beats the ctx on land but of course the ctx eats it up on the beach ,I havent personally done it myself so let me know what you find out.

I hit deeper finds with my CTX! I've hit small 200 year old copper coins at 15+ inches even though the CTX read 12 inches!

The three advantages of the Deus are:

    1. Speed. (It recovers much faster than the CTX.)
    2. Weight. (Very light, less arm fatigue.)
    3. Price. ($1500 vs. $2500)

    The disadvantages are:
    1. Almost no water capability.
    2. No computer screen readout. (Which I find extremely advantageous.)
    3. No GPS capability. (In Germany you must submit your finds to a government agency with GPS coordinates where you found the item.)
    4. Depth. In my opinion, the CTX does read deeper.
    5. Very hard to detect in or near salt water.

These are just my opinions based on experiences detecting with my CTX alongside a Deus user, but as always, opinions may vary.

The coil of the Deus is waterproof. The box is not! If you take it in the water, you must keep the box out of the water! Two years ago, I went to Croatia with my good friend who swings an XP. I was comfortably detecting in neck-deep water with my CTX 3030 while Dan could only go waist-deep. He ended up putting the receiving unit to his Deus in a waterproof bag and taped it to his head! LOL! He tried putting the receiver in a waterproof plastic box, but then couldn't get a signal from his coil! If you look closely at the XP website, you'll see that the XP Deus is "weatherproof" not "waterproof".
