Last few hunts-virgin park, farm field

    Hi all,
I managed to get a couple more hunts in at the virgin park that was a river front farm at one time. This time i broke out the 17 inch coil since everything good seems to be quite deep under a lot of fill dirt, or in soft shoreline where everything sinks deep. The first outing I only managed one wheatie, but an oldie, a 1919S. I also found another cast harness buckle shield. Judging from the style, I would guess older than 1879 one I found previously.

The next hunt at the same park netted 3 more deep 50s era wheats and a 47 Rosie. Along the river I made an unusual find, an old bait casting reel! Towards the end of the hunt I doubled bacteria to a target I gave up on previously. It rang up about 12-47, but once I hit a foot down I gave up. But since I wasn't finding much else I decided to give it a go again. So about 16 inches down I finally hit the target. No idea what it is though. Half ball shaped copper, center hole, and 2 small loops on it. Size is about equal to a large grapefruit.

Today before work I was finally able to hit a field next to what was once a house and barn. I was hoping to find some old coins or other relics, but the only thing old was a harness buckle and a copper disc that looks like a cap for something maybe. I also found 2 small pieces that look like pieces off some larger decorative piece, and the usual farm detritus.

I have no idea really, some kind of riveted bracket that was found well under the fill dirt level in the same area I found the harness shield.

Holy cow, great I'D on the model T points! Seeing your post, I had to go look them up to see how they looked as a complete set, even had a difficult time finding a photo of the originals since they apparently got updated quite soon.

Al I posted some a couple of years ago. I went back and looked at my post. I really was hoping that you had commented on my post but you hadn't. Bummer

Nice buckle and grats on more silver. I almost thought that was a half of a crotal, not a reel.

I think I recently posted something from the points box. It wasn't the point itself but the cover.
Future goals: Capped bust coin, Flowing hair LC, Classic head LC, VT copper, MA copper, Pistareen, Two-cent pc, SLQ, GW inaugural button, Excelsior button, Civil war token, and a gold ring.
