Hello from Wisconsin,
Recently my brother in law and I came across a old city dump in the woods dating back to the late 1800's, whats the best way of detecting such a large area, how do you get rid of digging garbage as old rusty tin cans.
Thanks

These can be so frustrating to through as there are massive amounts of tin and iron and glass . I could help you a bit more if you were looking just for bottles . I dug an old land fill when I first moved out here in Massachusetts , it was from the late 1800's to 1900 in age . I use to bring a probing pole a 5 gallon bucket a shovel and potato rake .
