Pretty nice gift and a big chunk of silver! The mint mark of "V" is Troyes according to this book entry.

Nice gift, Drew. It is almost the size of an 8R. I bought one roman coin online cuz I know the chances of finding one are quite slim.
Future goals: Capped bust coin, Flowing hair LC, Classic head LC, VT copper, MA copper, Pistareen, Two-cent pc, SLQ, GW inaugural button, Excelsior button, Civil war token, and a gold ring.
It's nice to have family members who know what us detector type of people really want for xmas. great gift.
