    Iron What is it.

    I found this piece at the S/A war camp we are hunting and have no idea what it is. The iron piece that was attached to wood, I think. It would swivel on a center pivot and the part without the studs would overlap the part with the studs. There are three beveled screw holes in the part without the studs. Two are barely noticeable but they are on each side.The bevel is on the side shown in the first picture.

    I will have to get an electrolysis rig and try to clean it up.
    My wife does all the driving, I just hold the steering wheel!

    That is an odd piece. I was going to say a bolt plate from a lock but not when they are swiveled together like that.

    looks like an old hinge type device for a gate maybe

    Thanks for the replies everyone. I wonder if this could be a hinge to a large trunk? The part with the screw holes should be flat.

    As if the hinge was mounted on the right and left back corner of the trunk. That would be a good possibility.

    I have a friend with an electrolysis set-up. I will try to get this piece to him so he can clean it up.
