Finally on the board, 1st silver of 2017

I managed to get out to the old zoo this morning after work for a couple hours. I thought to give a particular area a try with the TDI because it was nearly impossible to detect with the CTX due to having so much trash and iron. Turns out it was a good decision! Found lots of clad, but finally got past my 1919 wheatie barrier with my first 1918 wheat.
Working low and slow over a hill I got a pretty deep signal. Had to go down about 10 inches and I saw shiny. Been so long I almost forgot what silver looked like. Break up the dirt ball and see a pretty nice 1939 Washington quarter.

The only other notable find was an old Schrader balloon tire pressure gauge which apparently dates from about 1907 to 1926.

Great start with semi-big silver ! Haven't found a silver quarter in a year, sometimes I think every square inch of public land in Ct has been detected.

Quite often I feel the same 2sy about Wisconsin, but also most older private property as well. I've pounded many 1800s abandoned farms and a few cellars with only 2 wheats if I remember correctly. Other places I've had to mow down thick brush to swing, which got old silver and Victorian relics. Seems only the hardest to get at are mostly all that's left.

I think I got a '39 as well. Grats on some silver, a thing that is few and far between with me. I haven't found one of those Schrader gauge, but I do have one lying around somewhere.
Future goals: Capped bust coin, Flowing hair LC, Classic head LC, VT copper, MA copper, Pistareen, Two-cent pc, SLQ, GW inaugural button, Excelsior button, Civil war token, and a gold ring.
