Huge congrats on that 1912-S Liberty Nickel! I don't think I've ever seen one posted on any metal detecting forum before. It is a very scarce coin, and there's no doubt that yours is an "S". That one has been on my bucket list for a very long time!

    Way to go!

WOW! That 1912 S is an amazing find. Not seen any of those posted before. Congratulations! Finding a winged liberty dime is still one of my favorite things. Great Hunt!

I did this hunt in relic mode...nothing fancy...only had the gain at 5. I like the built in mixed mode you get with relic mode...you hear everything!!!

Thanks Tony! I knew this was a last year V and only saw the mint mark after cleaning it with water! I just about fell over when I saw how rare of a coin it is!!!

Your clasp is in much better shape. Mine is broken but I still hung on to it because of the date.

    Wow! That's a good one!
    Congrats!
I had to look back at my book. I found a 1912D a few years ago. I knew I had one with a mint mark. Just couldn't remember what it was. Then I checked out the Red Book. Whoa! Nice find. Wish that D was a S on mine!

Congrats on the relics and the older Merc and V-nick! Indeed, the v-nick can command a premium in all non-corroded grades. Even with the corrosion on yours, I'd say a collector would easily give you 50 bucks for it.
