    Park Construction Project Finds

I finally was able to spend some solid time on this project yesterday and it paid off well. In addition to what you see pictured here I dug at least 100 pull tabs plus other iron and junk out of the old exposed beach sand long buried. I was hoping for some old gold, but it did not happen. Still I was able to make some good finds, enjoy a nice day by the water, and get some exercise. Finds include a brass boat handle, a piece from a Bray's Special gas lamp, four silvers, etc, plus a few eyeball finds of buttons, clay pipe stem, part of a hutch bottle, etc. I'll keep going back and hope to make some more finds as they move the dirt and sand around more this week. This project should be done in the next few weeks. Thanks for lookin!

Some cool finds there! Nice silvers, but I like the big old Spanish coins too. That boat handle is kind of a b9g piece to lose, isn't it? Lol

With that many pulltabs, you know there's gotta be a gold ring or two around. GL&HH

My knees ache for you sir...100 pull tabs...nuts. Congrats though on a nice set of finds, spanning many, many generations to boot! Clay pipe stem to a 1970s coin! Way to go.

As of yesterday, this project is pretty much done. Some others hit this as well pulling many good coins this week. As for me, I spent another several hours there this week as they moved dirt around and only managed a wheat cent & IH. Plus this pile of junk.

What was the oldest coin to come out of the ground from this project, that you know of?

1905 IH and 1905 V Nickel I believe, that I know of. Most of the stuff was from the 1910's - 1920's which makes sense given the age of this area of the park.

This park project is all done now, but I thought I would post a pile of all the "junk" from a few of my last trips there. I found some great stuff and I told a few others about it and they too made some good finds.
