Size: 75.5 KBI was cleaning out a house about 2 weeks ago and had to clean the cellar, this was an old house in Portland, and one of the few ones that has a dirt floor, so before I left I got out the detector and did the floor, in the corner I dugged up an old tin box with 45 pieces of dinerware, all silver, about 2000 grams , it all looks in great shape after a lite clean

Good job! I'm old enough to remember dirt floors even though I never lived in one. I sure hate that I missed the opportunity to work those places now long gone.

Sounds like one heck of a find! I've been wondering about a couple places I've lived not that long ago that had diet floors. Guess I'll never know.
Have you looked up the manufacturer and/or pattern to get a date range? If you like, post some photos here of the pattern and amy hallmarls on back, and maybe we can research it.

Wow, great looking set! Do you have a close up photo of the hallmarks on the back? They won't be on the knives though, since the blades won't be silver, and the handles are hollow and filled.

At least you have a good idea of the year. That maker's mark will be difficult at best to identify.
