    Swastika Indian Motifs

This was in my trash pouch from my last hunt. Any ideas on what it is? It has another broken part to it....seems to be a bent up bracelet.. pre-war Indians used swastikas?? I also found the mushroom....just posted it to make Jeff green with envy

I guess native Americans used a "whirling log" symbol that looks just like a swastika. https://nativeamericanjewelrytips.wo...-log-swastika/

Don't forget that before the war those symbols that are now associated with the Nazis were often used as good luck symbols. Most of those date back to before Christianity. Hitler was obsessed with the occult and thpught using those old symbols they would help him win his war.

Interesting find, Drew. I hadn't heard of the rolling log before, either. Apparently I am also not familiar with the exact time when these items were a fad. I thought Native American jewelry was a fad around the time when the cowboy and Indian shows were on black and white TV, which was post WWII, right? Wasn't that after what Chris had mentioned? Granted back then, people weren't as worried on offending another, as they are today.
Future goals: Capped bust coin, Flowing hair LC, Classic head LC, VT copper, MA copper, Pistareen, Two-cent pc, SLQ, GW inaugural button, Excelsior button, Civil war token, and a gold ring.
