    Short hunt, new park

I got out this morning to a different park that I don't think was ever hunted before. Really it's not much more than a short narrow strip of land between the street and a steep embankment headed to the river. It dates to the 1880s so had hopes of some good old coins. Ended up with several wheats again including a 1929S, plus 2 silver. Place was so small, 2 hours gave me time to cover it twice. Just goes to show even the smallest bit of land can give up some goods!

Thanks DD! I think it's pretty much about 10% research, and 90% luck. Most places I try I completely strike out at but every once in a while....

I doubt it since there's a lot of iron and shallow trash. The PI machine works great in some situations and not so well in others. Places like this, not so well.

Grats on the silvers. I was disappointed with a 'park' I spotted recently. I had gone down to the center of the state on Friday, and with all the accidents blocking the highway, I decided to take back roads home. I stumbled upon a small park with a basketball court and a bench. It was small. Unfortunately I didn't notice the sign when I drove by that I saw on streetview... it was a private park for some commons. But the way the road was, and the general area with a few older houses, it looked promising. Oh well.
Future goals: Capped bust coin, Flowing hair LC, Classic head LC, VT copper, MA copper, Pistareen, Two-cent pc, SLQ, GW inaugural button, Excelsior button, Civil war token, and a gold ring.

I love little out of the way places like that. Even though parks up here are quite thin for the goodies, those places have produced some of my better park finds.
