    FUGIO Cent

Got out for a short maybe 2 hour hunt at a newer park with plans on finding newer silver and possibly a seated, I guess you never know what you will find where. Some expertise on cleaning will be much appreciated too, without damaging at all! Thanks All

Oh man. that is awesome. I found a New Jersey Copper and I just left it alone as I was afraid I would ruin what was left of the coin. If you do clean it, please post the results and how you cleaned it.

    Congrats!!

Congrats on the Fugio , these coins can be very challenging to clean as I believe the copper purity varies some . The pictures make it very difficult to see what the actual surface is like . That is key to cleaning most old coppers .

Awesome find! Cleaning that specimen.....I would refrain from any form of wet soak cleaning until you can see what shape the skin is in. And what is good for the obverse might not be good for the reverse.

Congrats on your incredible find . I'm not an expert on cleaning but my beliefs on what I can see in the photos is that any attempt on cleaning would be disastrous .Of course on stating this I suspect there will soon be a photo proving me wrong .Good luck if you make the attempt ( I have seen some incredibly successful clean ups on this forum) .
