Back to the Cornfield - 1876 seated dime

October 22, 2017 – Cornfield hunt produced a 1876 seated dime, Three IHPs (1869 and 2 no dates) and varies farm field finds. I thought I finally found my first cannon ball but it is made of lead. Not sure if this was a weight for something?

Nice hunt! The giant ball of lead is interesting. I would have thought cannon ball as well.

We would love to see closeup photos of the coins. The seated dime is a great find, and 1869 is a semi-key Indian Head. Nice!

    Lifetime totals:
9 Large Cents, 415 Indian Heads, 2 Two Cent Pieces, 1 Capped Bust Half Dime, 1 Seated Half Dime, 10 Shield Nickels, 68 V Nickels, 124 Buffalo Nickels, 31 War Nickels, 16 Seated Dimes, 131 Barber Dimes, 405 Mercury Dimes, 249 Rosies, 4 Seated Quarters, 18 Barber Quarters, 19 Standing Liberty Quarters, 89 Silver Washingtons, 1 Seated Half, 3 Barber Halves, 16 Walking Liberty Halves
