    Bucknut's 2017 year in review

2017 was another fun detecting year for me. I did particularly well in the nickel department this year with a personal best for all of the following.... of war niks (17) of Buffs (28) and of V niks (10). A Shield Nik is still on the bucket list for me. I love finding nickels because (as you all know) they are often pull tabs or other trash signals. So digging these up makes me feel more confident about my detecting skills.

I also had a personal best of Indians this year with 37. Below is a pic of the better ones. Also found a personal best with 3 fatty Indians and a personal best of 3 civil war tokens. (Gee the more I write this up the more I realize how great of a year I had!)

And here is my pile of silvers and most of my silver jewelry. One odd thing that I noticed this year was that although I found 105 silver coins only 6 were quarters and no halves this year.

Looking forward to the Spring and being able to get out and detect again. I sold my deus and am buying the new Equinox with the money I got from the deus so I hope that this will help me clean out all of the old public areas that I have done so well at over the last 5 years.

    2017 Season Totals:
    Clad: $120.88
    Indians: 37
    Wheaties: 579
    Silver: 105
    Silver Jewelry: 17
    Gold Jewelry: 1
    Favorite 2017 find: 1876 S Seated Quarter

Thanks for looking and keep warm!

Very impressive year! I'm with Tony, only ever found the one fatty, along with the single civil war token. Great collection of silver too. But, that pile of nickles is certainly impressive! Just hope the equinox holds up to the hype, it'll be hard to outrun a deus.

I'm also going with the Equinox. I haven't pre-ordered though, so I might be waiting until the cows come home. You had a wonderful year, Jared! I wish I could find a CW token...just one! You've also found more war nickles this year than I've ever found. Congrats and keep it up!!

I'm disappointed Jared. Where's those 579 Wheaties!! All kidding aside you had a great year! I may have topped you in the relics, but can't compete with the silver coins. Just a great haul you have there. I've only pulled 1 fatty IH over the years and still looking for a CW Token like the others. I'm sure your success will continue this year! BTW, how much of your haul this year came from public parks? It seems you're the king of pulling the leftovers from those spots. Up here, 98% of those public parks are pretty barren - at least up here.
