    Does anyone else do this?

Does anyone else do this? I love to wear the coins I find as a necklace, but I would hate to lose the actual coin I found. So, I buy a better version of the same coin and year off eBay along with a bezel. Photos of my 9 Denier, 2 cent and 2 Reales necklaces. I need to get a better bezel for the Reales, it’s hard to find a bezel that size.

Very cool way to display finds yet keep them safe. I've seen others who have found coins that were already holed put on a pendant.

That's exactly why I would never wear a coin I found, it would be horrible to lose a coin I dug,,,and most of what I dig is in rough shape from the farm fields lol.

If I lost an eBay coin, I would not lose sleep over it.

That's an interesting way to commemorate your finds. Never thought about that approach. I would like to wear a coin but would never make one into a necklace that I actually found. When I do find a great coin, I worry about losing it before I get out of the woods.

It's funny you said that. I never had that happen before, but last week when I found those 2 NJ coppers I got back to my Jeep and for some reason I opened my little finds holder before I drove off...and there was only 1 copper in it. I freaked out, grabbed my detector and ran back to the field. I detected my way back to the hole and sure enough, it was right next to the hole. I took a photo of it and must have placed it down to put away my phone. Now I'm VERY careful and make sure I check my finds holder before I leave a field.

The day I found my Shilling I must have checked my finds box 100 times out in the woods just to make sure it was still in there!
