    Hi My Fellow TH'ers
I welcome all to this forum. I lived in Orleans, France from 1958 to 1961. I wish I had the ability to speak French like I did when I was younger. I was stationed in Ludwigsburg, Germany from 1973 - 1976, then in Augsburg, Germany from 1977 - 1979. I found many od coins including one slick Roman coin that is about the size of a US half dollar. I dug a few French coins in Augsburg that dated to WW I so assume they were coins taken from the battlefields or from French prisoners. Treasure Hunting (TH'ing) in Germany was amazing. I hope to one day return to dig a few more coins as well as military relics.

My oldest finds include eight different Spanish Reales ranging from 1680 to 1845. Seven are silver and the 1845 is copper. My oldest US Coins date from 1798 Large Cents (4), 1809 Half Cent, 1868 two Cent, 1854 three Cent, 1835 Half Dime, 1877 CC Dime, 1909 Quarter, 1865 S Half Dollar, 1954 US Type I Gold Dollar.

I have also found several King George II Half Penny and One Penny coins that date from the 1760's to 1778, an Irish Harp Penny dated 1748 (?)

As with many others I have a fair share of slicks, coins that have no design showing. I also have several Colonial coins from New York and Conn and one from Virginia.

PS: Remember; Don't leave it in the ground!

Oldest US Copper coin: 1798 Large Cent
Oldest US Silver Coin: 1835 Bust Half Dime
Oldest US Gold Coin: 1854 One Dollar, Type I
Oldest Coin: Dateless Roman copper about the size of a US Half Dollar
Best Relic find: US Civil War Belt Buckles (2)
