Western & Eastern Treasures Find of the Year!

The Massachusetts Pine Tree Shilling that I found last year with Danny LaMontagne was selected as one of the Finds of the Year by Western & Eastern Treasures Magazine. My coin also made the cover of the magazine. I get my subscription online, but I have a funny feeling that our local Barnes and Nobles bookstores will sell all three copies of the issue this week!

American Detectorist was well represented as Calabash Digger had TWO entries selected as Finds of the Year and both of his finds also made the cover!Name: wet 2 cover.jpg

I was contacted by Stacks and Bowers within a day or two after I found it and posted it here on AD. I am honored that Stacks volunteered their auction service if I ever decide to sell the coin. I haven't received, nor solicited, any offers. The coin is in the lockbox and will stay there, hopefully, for decades. Monetarily, it's not worth enough to change my life so there is no real incentive to sell the coin. If I sold it, the coin would be gone and the money would soon follow. Then, I would be left with nothing but the memory.

Thanks everyone! I had never entered a find into Western & Eastern Treasures Find of the Year before. I probably had a couple over the years that might have made it. I'm stoked that this one made it in.

Thanks everyone and Donnie for posting it. Whats funny is a guy I know found the NC 3 button on the cover too. He took me to that site you were lucky to find a BB lol... I did squeeze out a button from the core where he had pounded just a flat but I was hoping!
