    Interview at the museum

    Howdy folks,
Just wanted to drop an update. Went through my interview at the museum today for the docent position and everything looks great! Got the personal tour of some areas of special exhibits and shown some of the "hidden" features of the displays. I've got orientation scheduled for after my vacation beginning of June. Also turns out the area I had hoped to work is what they are looking to fill , which is the "Streets of old Milwaukee"
The tough part will be getting through the classes, but more so authoring my own tour agenda and a tailored presentation to give to tour groups. Research is self directed, but I do get to work directly with the curator. One fun aspect is later on I would get to somewhat personalize the displays in my area which I find amazing.
The coordinator I spoke with today says it's a tough position to fill and will take a lot of work. Maybe half who start the program finish it. But those who do are held in high regard by the staff and visitors alike, and there are a lot of "special" perks being a docent.
I'll keep updating if anything more exciting happens. Thanks for reading, and appreciate any feedback!

That's awesome. I hope everything goes well with the program as well. I've heard it's tough too. The position is very fulfilling though, so it's certainly worth the effort. At least it seems that way to me.

Thanks Jeff! Its not full time. It's a part time volunteer position. They only ask for a couple times a month, maybe 4 hours each day.
