    My September Finds

    Hey Diggers,
I've only been able to get out on Sunday mornings for a little detecting this month. Between work and family there's not much time left in the day! Here's some pics of my September finds. They span about 1,800 years (give or take). The Nazi belt buckle is of course a bucket list item and probably my best find of the month. Thanks for looking and happy hunting, Dave.

Very nice finds Dave and congrats on the belt buckle! Any particular significance to any of the buttons (military, other) or are they mainly generic?

John, The buttons are mostly plain but 4 of them are tombacs which typically came off the French officers during the 1790s. The dome shaped tombac in the upper right of the picture is off the gator (boot cover) of a French soldier. There were 7-button gators and 12-button gators.
