    Mercury rising

Have a 2 day window of 40+ degree temps so spent the whole day today enjoying that window in hopes of finding my 100th silver for the year. I actually was looking to hunt a brand new spot when I was surprised to see a locked gate at the entrance. Was ready to head to a backup spot when I decided to check one more road around the Park. Glad I did as everything was wide open at the other entrance. The place was definitely hunted before but I did get number 100 along with 4 more. Looks like a decent spot for next year. Found 5 Mercs, 1 Buffalo and 26 wheats. Also got a Cracker Jacks President Token and a Wisconsin Bus Transit Token. On the way home I hit 1 more spot and found a really nice Merc and 1 more wheat. Was a beautiful day to swing with lots of finds. Wisconsin Digger

That's a good haul from a new park! 6 silvers is a great day detecting--I bet you can't wait to get back there. I notice the wheats all have the green slime stains on them. Was the dirt all green around them too? Hopefully spring will come quickly for you. Happy hunting! Dave.

Congrats on your 100+ silvers! You sure have some good luck finding old parks with stuff left in them. I've been in a slump most of the year with promising old parks and got to the point I feel lucky to find clad. Any clad....

Yeah, I had know idea how many wheats I had as they were all mostly green. I was surprised with the Cracker Jack Token being in pretty good shape as they usually get pretty eaten up in this type of ground. It is rainy today but I may try it one more time. Thx WD
